Your Child’s Orthodontic Treatment
Friday, September 3, 2010 | 7:19 amWhat is Orthodontic Treatment? Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that specializes in preventing and treating dental and facial problems. An Orthodontist is the dentist that specializes in this field.
What are the common problems of your child that needs orthodontic treatment?
Mostly:
* If there is overcrowding of teeth.
* Too much space between teeth.
* Extra or missing teeth.
* Irregularities of jaws, teeth and face.
* Early or late loss of baby teeth.
* Difficulty in chewing or biting.
* Teeth that meet abnormally or not at all.
* Teeth and jaws are out of proportion to the rest of the lace.
Why is it important to prevent or treat orthodontics problems? Crowded teeth are hard to clean. This may result to tooth decay and gum diseases. Poor chewing habits may interfere with normal growth and development of the jaw. This may cause chronic pain in the head and neck of your child. Speech problems may occur.
At what age do you bring your child to the dentist for an orthodontic treatment? It is best to bring your child to the dentist when he turns 6 or 7 years old. Your dentist will assess your child’s dental condition and might recommend interceptive orthodontics. These are early orthodontic treatment procedures that can prevent orthodontic problems. As always, preventive treatment is the best and least expensive choice.

Fixed and Essential Expenses
Sunday, June 20, 2010 | 6:00 amSpending less than what one is earning is the solution to reduce financial debt and increase net worth. For the purpose of keeping track of one’s expenses, it is beneficial to classify expenses under essential and nonessential expenses. Essential expenses can be further classified into fixed expenses and variable expenses. It is crucial to know how much money is spent each month on those essentially fixed expenses in order to determine one’s disposable income. Fixed and essential monthly expenses include mortgages, rent, taxes, insurance and loan repayments. This cluster of expenses refers to those recurring expenses that involve a fixed payment each month. Consequently, there is not much control over fixed expenses and a part of most individuals’ income is going to be utilized to meet these expenses each month.
Variable and essential expenses include the majority of household expenses such as electricity bills, gas/heating, telephone bills, gasoline, home maintenance, groceries, and so on. Although these are essential expenses, one can exert some control over how much is spent on these utilities. For instance, taking groceries into consideration, adopting methods to save money on groceries by shopping from discount stores will yield significant savings on household expenses; electricity consumption can be reduced by adopting several energy-efficient devices. Hence, variable expenses can be somewhat reduced, unlike fixed expenses. Non-essential expenses are in the majority expenses related to entertainment. Although most individuals spend a considerable amount on entertainment, it is assumed that one has full control on this cluster of spending. This spending cluster is what is usually referred to as one’s disposable income. Naturally, the way to increase net worth is to make a plan to save money from this disposable income.
